Summary
The Institute of Forest offers consumers services for the identification of genetic material of fungal pathogens isolated from affected plant samples according to the molecular genetic atlas of fungal pathogens of forest tree species under an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners interested in a distribution services agreement.
Description
Scope - support of molecular phytopathological analysis.
The molecular genetic atlas can be used by genetic laboratories of the Republic of Belarus and the CIS specializing in phytopathological analysis.
The molecular genetic atlas was created in the Republic of Belarus for the first time and covers the main groups of pathogens of phytopathological diseases of forest tree and shrub species.
It is possible to conclude agreements and contracts for molecular phytopathological analysis based on molecular genetic methods.
Information is posted in Album of promising developments of the NAS of Belarus organizations for the real sector of the economy (2023), p. 236-237. (in Russian)

Advantages and Innovations
The development is competitive and in its capabilities to provide genetic and microbiological information on pathogens of forest tree species fungal diseases is not inferior to foreign analogues. There are no analogues in the Republic of Belarus.
The use of the atlas allows to reduce the time (less than 8 hours) for species identification of pathogenic microorganisms of forest tree species of plants and to issue recommendations on measures to combat pathogens of phytopathologies.
The molecular genetic atlas is a safe electronic database and functions without the manifestation of various negative consequences for a specific computer system.
As a promising application, it is proposed to use it in the creation of genetic test systems for the diagnosis of various types of phytopathologies.

Additional comments
The Institute of Forest of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the leading and only specialized research institution that ensures a modern scientific, technical and innovative level of development of forestry in the country.
The Institute of Forest has well-equipped material, technical and instrumental bases that ensure the implementation of research work at a modern scientific and methodological level.
The Institute carries out active scientific cooperation with research institutes and higher educational institutions of the CIS countries and far abroad.
Experimental and industrial testing of scientific and technical developments of the Institute is carried out at its three experimental forest bases: Dvinskaya, Zhornovskaya and Korenevskaya.
Areas of activity:
- study of genetic, physiological and biochemical mechanisms for the formation of forest productivity and sustainability;
- improvement of the scientific foundations of reproduction, rational use and protection of forest resources;
- development of technologies for sustainable forest management and forest use;
- development of forest reproduction technologies based on genetic selection, increasing their productivity, environmental sustainability and preserving biodiversity;
- development of methods, means and technologies for protecting forests from fires and protecting them from harmful organisms;
- development of methods and technologies for the rehabilitation of anthropogenically disturbed forest lands;
- development of methods and technologies for the protection and reproduction of non-timber forest products, the use of biotechnology for industry, agriculture, medicine and environmental protection.
The regulatory and technical framework of the republic for forestry management has been developed by the Institute or with its participation.
