Summary
The Flax Institute offers consumers an improved resource-saving technology for cultivating new zoned varieties for the scientifically based production of fiber flax seeds and fibers under a commercial agreement with technical assistance and is looking for partners to conclude a technical cooperation agreement.
Description
The technology is based on the use of a set of agrotechnical techniques for growing new varieties and intensifying technological processes.
Improved resource-saving technology for cultivating new zoned fiber flax varieties involves cultivating domestic and foreign fiber flax varieties on soils with an optimal acidity level (pHx1 5.0-5.5); the use of optimal, economically viable doses of fertilizers depending on the supply of soil with nutrients and precursors, seeding rates, and protective equipment; provides a total fiber yield of 14-16, incl. long 10-12 c/ha, seeds 6-8 c/ha, harvested trust number not lower than 1.25.

Advantages and Innovations
The technology provides resource saving and yields of 18..19 c/ha of fiber and 7..8 c/ha of seeds.
The technology provides savings per hectare: electricity 1.2 kW; hydrocarbon fuel 0.2 t.e., material resources 72 thousand rubles; labor resources 1.5 people/day. The use of technology provides a profit per hectare of fiber flax crop of 397.8 USD, production profitability is 20%.

Additional comments
The main priority areas of activity of the Institute of Flax of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus are:
Creation of new highly productive varieties of fiber flax of various ripeness groups and high-yielding, high-fat varieties of oilseed flax, having high technological and nutritional qualities of the oil.
Primary seed production of zoned and promising varieties of fiber flax and oil flax.
Development of environmentally friendly, resource-saving technologies for cultivating and harvesting new and promising varieties of fiber flax and oil flax in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus.
Development of agrotechnical methods for increasing the yield and quality of flax products and reducing the cost of production of flax products.
Monitoring the morphophysiological and phytosanitary state of fiber flax crops.
Improving techniques for managing processes occurring during aging of flax straw.
Introduction of scientific developments into agricultural production, advanced training of personnel in the flax growing industry.
International scientific and technical cooperation has been established with leading research organizations in the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Poland involved in the cultivation and processing of flax.
