Description
The hardware-software complex with special software for the workplaces of the operators of the calculation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and the instructor provides simulation of the flight of unmanned aircraft vehicles (UAVs) in various meteorological conditions, special cases in flight with elements of automated assessment of the actions of trainees, reception and transmission to work places of telemetry, visual information and functioning under the control of the Linux operating system.
The simulator is developed according to the modular principle, which makes it possible to use it for training operators of various UAVs, changing the required number of trainees' workplaces. The UAV simulator ensures the acquisition, maintenance and improvement by UAV operators of skills and abilities in performing UAV control in manual, semi-automatic and automatic flight modes, specific actions in special cases in flight, etc.
Purpose:
- training of UAV operators and target load, maintaining their skills and abilities in UAV piloting, navigation, operation of UAV systems and equipment in flight;
- carrying out objective control of flights.
The simulator is a hardware-software complex with special software integrated into the flight simulator for full-time automated workstations of UAV operators and an instructor, operating under the Linux operating system, and is designed according to a modular principle, which makes it possible to use it to train operators of various UAVs, taking into account the necessary the number of jobs for trainees.
Simulator features:
- conducting trainings with full and reduced UAV calculations;
- automated assessment of the actions of the UAV crew members;
- preparation, input, storage, display, correction and recording of the flight task;
- registration, processing, storage, display of parametric and visual information obtained during UAV flight simulation;
- control of UAVs and target load during flight simulation;
- tracking and determining the coordinates of the selected objects in the frame of the video stream on the workstation of the operator of the central station;
- input and simulation of UAV failures, the impact of external factors on the UAV flight from the instructor's workstation;
- display of flight and navigation, parametric and visual information during flight simulation, as well as the actions of operators on the instructor's workstation;
- processing, storage, display of information obtained as a result of real UAV flights;
- automated and manual processing of materials of objective control of real flights according to the registered UAV telemetric information for its subsequent analysis and documentation.
To improve the skills of UAV operators, a course of training tasks has been implemented in the simulator. The instructor can simulate in the simulator the occurrence of various emergency situations in the course of the trainee performing a learning task.
The composition of the simulator:
- automated workstation (AWS) of the instructor;
- AWS operator of an unmanned aerial vehicle;
- target load operator workstation;
- AWS of the head of the LHC calculation;
- AWS for flight data analysis;
- power supply systems;
- Spare parts, tools, accessories;
- a set of operational documentation with general and special software.

Advantages and Innovations
The simulator provides an increase in the quality of training and training of UAS operators, a reduction in time and costs for their training with a significant reduction in costs compared to training on real samples, an increase in the efficiency of the UAS, including when performing special tasks, a decrease in the number of accidents and losses of UAVs due to fault aviation personnel.
The use of the UAS operators simulator allows to perform a detailed study of the upcoming flight area and, thus, reduce the cost of training UAS operators up to 40..50%.
The use of technical solutions, structural elements, devices of algorithms and models of domestic development in the simulator, the modular structure of the product, which provides the possibility of complex training of operators of various
UAS, changing the number of training jobs according to the requirements of the customer.
The economic efficiency of the development is due to the growth in the number and intensity of the use of unmanned aerial systems, the expansion of their scope, the increased need for fast and high-quality training of UAS operators.
The use of the UAS operators simulator allows to perform a detailed study of the upcoming flight area and, thus, reduce the cost of training UAS operators up to 40..50%.

The Republican Unitary Enterprise "Scientific and Production Centre for Multifunctional Unmanned Systems" of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the leading enterprise of the Republic of Belarus in the development and production of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) designed for:
- performing surveillance, reconnaissance and data collection (with the receipt of video information, including in the infrared range, in high resolution);
- conducting aircraft photography;
- retransmission of radio signals;
- use in scientific research;
- transportation of goods.
Unmanned aircraft vehicles manufactured by the enterprise are capable of performing photo, video, infrared or multispectral shooting of terrain and objects using optical systems installed on a gyro-stabilized platform, in daylight and at night. A wide range of target load capabilities and high aerodynamic qualities of aircraft make it possible to use them for reconnaissance, control of the state border, detection of emergencies, control of the state of territories where oil and gas pipelines pass, combating poaching, counting animals, monitoring vehicle flows on the roads ( with automatic tracking of objects), monitoring the condition of power lines and agricultural land, etc.
Unmanned aircraft vehicles "Busel M" are effectively used in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, including for monitoring and assessing the state of objects (natural, man-made) in order to increase the speed of response to emergencies, their detection, elimination and prevention.
The enterprise, in accordance with the terms of reference of the Customer, can carry out a wide range of scientific research using unmanned aerial vehicles.
The unmanned aircraftl vehicles of the Center have the following advantages:
- increased communication range;
- modern target loads (TV, IR-cameras with a laser rangefinder, photo cameras), high-resolution shooting;
- automatic tracking of a moving object;
- simplicity and reliability of operation;
- all-weather, resistance to strong wind;
- the possibility of installing additional equipment;
