Summary
The Institute of Genetics and Cytology offers consumers services for analyzing the level of DNA damage (fragmentation) in male sperm in order to identify genetically determined forms of male infertility under an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
A highly sensitive DNA comet method (single-cell gel electrophoresis) has been adapted to analyze the level of DNA damage (fragmentation) in male sperm in order to identify genetically determined forms of male infertility. Using a small number of cells from a sperm sample, the method allows the analysis of a wide range of lesions: single and double DNA strand breaks, apurine-apyrimidine sites, DNA-DNA, and DNA-protein crosslinks.
Together with the State Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Mother and Child" of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, indications for the analysis of sperm DNA fragmentation were determined, and instructions for use were developed, approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
