Summary
The Institute for Nature Management offers consumers an assessment of the potential of unconventional hydrocarbon raw materials based on geological and geophysical methods developed by the institute within the framework of an outsourcing agreement.
Description
On the basis of a complex of geological, geophysical and geochemical data, geological and geophysical methods have been developed for detecting and assessing the potential of unconventional hydrocarbon raw materials in three sedimentary basins of Belarus. A forecast is given for the detection of hydrocarbon raw materials within the Pripyat oil-bearing and possibly oil-bearing Orsha and Brest basins, test sites have been identified for working out the technology of geological study of unconventional sources of hydrocarbon raw materials.

For the first time for the conditions of the Republic of Belarus, a forecast was given for the identification of gas hydrate hydrocarbon deposits; methods for assessing and developing bituminous deposits of breccias in salt domes of the Pripyat trough.
Advantages and Innovations
In connection with the depletion of traditional hydrocarbon raw materials, the issue of their replenishment at the expense of unconventional hydrocarbons is urgent. As liquid hydrocarbons - oil, oil condensate, gaseous - gas, gas hydrates, solid - bituminous breccia of salt domes are defined.
