Summary
The Polessian Institute of Plant Growing offers consumers a simple mid-early sunflower hybrid "Vesuvius" under a license agreement, seed material under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners interested in a distribution services agreement.
Description
A simple mid-early hybrid.
Originator – RNDUP “Polessk Institute of Plant Growing”.
In the competitive variety testing of the Polesie Institute of Plant Growing in 2008-2010. provided an oilseed yield of 33.9-39.6 c/ha and on average exceeded the standard (hybrid Search) by 6.5 c/ha. The growing season averaged 114 days. The fat content in the seeds is 45.2%, the oil yield per hectare is 21.1 c. Protein in low-fat meal contains 18.6%, the yield per hectare is 8.4 c. The husk content is 25.4%. The oil contains 20.92% oleic acid, 67.64% linoleic acid, 6.08% palmitic acid, and 3.77% stearic acid. Hybrid with good and stable productivity. Flowering and ripening are friendly.
Plant height 170-190 cm.
The diameter of the basket is 20-21 cm.
Basket - convex shape
Seeds - broadly ovoid in shape, black in color with gray stripes, weight 1000 seeds (55-62g), puddle content 25.4%.
Productivity - oilseeds c/ha
Average - 53.6
Potential - 76.8

Additional comments
The Institute is one of the leading in the Republic of Belarus in the selection of corn and sunflower, is engaged in the creation of varieties of annual and perennial fodder grasses using traditional breeding methods, reproduction and obtaining original seeds. Particular attention is paid to the optimization of technologies for the cultivation of cereals, legumes, corn, sunflower, annual and perennial fodder grasses in specific soil and climatic zones of the Polessian zone.
The main directions of scientific and practical activity of the enterprise "Polessian Institute of Plant Growing" is the introduction of new competitive varieties and hybrids of agricultural crops in the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Belarus and the development of scientifically based and economically justified technologies for their cultivation, as well as:
- Creation of productive, high-quality varieties and hybrids of corn, sunflower, perennial grasses, cereals and vegetables using traditional breeding methods.
- Improvement of farming systems, taking into account the specific soil and climatic zones of the region, providing an economically viable crop of crop products, preserving soil fertility.
- Improvement of existing and development of new cost-effective technologies for growing and harvesting fodder crops.
- Optimization of technologies for the production of crop products, allowing the maximum realization of the genetic potential of plants in specific soil and climatic zones of the Gomel region areas while minimizing resource costs.
