Summary
The Institute of Metal Technology offers consumers billets from antifriction silumin with high mechanical and antifriction properties to replace bronzes, brass, babbits in friction units of various machines and mechanisms under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
Anti-friction silumin (AS) is an innovative development of the Institute, today it is the most promising substitute for bronze. This is a new, relatively light and wear-resistant aluminum-based alloy with high mechanical and anti-friction properties, which is used to replace bronzes, brass, babbits in friction units of various machines and mechanisms.
ITM NAS of Belarus is the developer and the only manufacturer of billets from this material.

Advantages and Innovations
A high degree of structural inversion and a highly dispersed microstructure provide silumins with globular silicon with unique anti-friction properties.
In terms of mechanical properties, billets made of AS are not inferior to similar ones made of bronze, and in terms of antifriction properties, they surpass them by 4..6 times. Billets from AS are cheaper than similar bronzes from Al-Fe and Pb-Zn-Sn by 2..2.5 times, and their weight is 2.5..3 times lower.
