Summary
The Institute of Chemistry of New Materials offers consumers a technology for applying multilayer coatings to modify surgical meshes for the purpose of immobilizing mesenchymal stem cells on them in a viable state under a commercial agreement with technical assistance and is looking for partners to conclude a research and technical cooperation agreement to develop work in this scientific feild.
Description
Ultra-thin coatings (thickness <100 nm) based on polysaccharides (chitosan, pectin, dextran, carboxymethylcellulose) ensure effective adhesion (attachment) of mesenchymal stem cells in a viable state. The relationship between the physicochemical characteristics of ultrathin biopolymer films and the ability of mesenchymal stem cells to form on their surface a monolayer culture of fibroblast-like cells with high viability (at least 95% of viable cells) has been established.
The developed multilayer coatings can be used for modification of surgical meshes in order to immobilize viable mesenchymal stem cells on them.

Advantages and Innovations
The relationship between the properties and composition of ultrathin biopolymer multilayer films and the adhesion and functioning of mesenchymal stem cells on them has been established. It has been proven that the key effect on cell adhesion is exerted by the elastic properties of multilayer films.
