Summary
B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus offers consumers singlet oxygen laser dosimeters in biological tissues under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners interested in a distribution services agreement.
Description
B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus manufactures laser dosimeters designed to study the photochemical processes of singlet oxygen in vivo occurring in biological tissues and cell cultures during photodynamic therapy.

The laser dosimeter is designed to register ultra-weak photosensitized luminescence of singlet oxygen of nano- and microsecond duration in the near-IR range of the spectrum (1200..1350 nm).

The original optical scheme provides a unique opportunity to study the time evolution of the luminescence signals of singlet oxygen fr om the tissue surface of experimental animals without placing the objects of study in a light-insulated chamber.

With the help of the created dosimeter, the characteristics of the luminescence of singlet oxygen in various media were determined, the luminescence of singlet oxygen from the surface of the tissue treated with Photolon (R) ointment, intended for the treatment of tumor neoplasms by the method of photodynamic therapy, was recorded.

The laser dosimeter has specialized software for operation control, accumulation, data processing and subsequent construction of a spectral-temporal pattern of luminescence.

Advantages and Innovations
The singlet oxygen laser dosimeter provides record-breaking detection sensitivity from the surface of the studied samples of all shapes and sizes without placing the latter in a light-insulated chamber. There are no similar in vivo singlet oxygen dosimeters in the CIS and abroad.

The laser dosimeter will allow monitoring the process of the appearance and disappearance of singlet oxygen in vivo during a photodynamic therapy session and increase the effectiveness of this treatment method by optimizing the light regime.
