The Joint Institute for Nuclear and Energy Research offers consumers and distributors a software package based on a modification of the dosimetric model of exposure for inhalation of aerosols under outsourcing or distribution agreements.
Description
To assess the level of radiation exposure on the population on the basis of calculations of the necessary dosimetric values, the previously created RADRISK software package was modernized: the database "Expected effective radiation doses per unit of inhalation and oral intake for the population according to the list of radionuclides belonging to the main radiation-hazardous radionuclides formed at a nuclear power plant with a water-water power reactor; a probabilistic model of the deposition of radioactive aerosol particles in various parts of the human lungs has been developed. Determination of the particle size distribution during sanitary and hygienic control. " This model provides a realistic estimate of the exposure doses to the population and personnel, taking into account the gas-aerosol composition of the emergency release typical for a particular emergency.
Advantages and Innovations
RADRISK software calculates population doses in the event of an emergency and atmospheric diffusion of gas and aerosol emissions in the surface layer, taking into account the requirements for radiation safety of the Republic of Belarus.
