Summary
Fish Industry Institute offers consumers services for bacteriological and parasitological analysis of fish with determination of sensitivity to antibiotics and issuing a conclusion under an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners interested in distribution services agreement.
Description
It is carried out to confirm or exclude diseases of a parasitic and bacterial nature in fish. To sel ect the optimal therapeutic drug, the sensitivity of bacteria isolated fr om fish to antibiotics is determined.

The analysis includes the following steps:
1. Parasitological examination of fish (examination, microscopy of scrapings from gills, body surface and fins, search for endoparasites in the body cavity, gastrointestinal tract, gall bladder, muscle tissue, eyes);
2. Bacteriological cultures on solid media from internal organs and blood of fish, as well as exudate and ulcers (if any);
3.4.Cleaning of bacterial cultures by reseeding; analysis of colony morphology, Gram staining and smear microscopy to determine cell morphology;
5.6. Conducting an OXI test and an API test to determine the species;
7. Determination of the sensitivity of isolated bacteria to antibiotics approved for use in fish farming;
8. Determination of the sensitivity of isolated bacteria to antibiotics approved for use in fish farming.

Additional comments
Fish Industry Institute is a leading research center that leads and coordinates research work on fish farming in the republic. The activities of the Institute’s scientists in the field of pond fish farming are aimed at stimulating the development of the natural food supply, maximizing the use of production opportunities by feeding fish with concentrated feed, switching to polyculture and optimizing its composition by growing highly productive fish species.

The main tasks and directions of scientific and scientific and technical activities of the organization are:
- Pond and industrial fish farming
- Improving fish breeding technologies
- Development of feed for fish
- Prevention and treatment of fish diseases
- Expansion of the range of farmed fish species
- Selection and breeding work
- Optimization of regimes of fishery use of resources of lakes, rivers and reservoirs
- Training of highly qualified scientific personnel
- Gene pool farm for breeding fish.

The long-term work carried out by the institute on the creation of pure carp lines of local selection ended with the design of three breeds of Belarusian carp, which made it possible to switch from growing unproductive outbred carps to cultivating first-generation heterozygous lines with high fish-breeding and consumer qualities in accordance with the developed industrial hybridization scheme.

The intensive technology of growing fish stock developed at the institute makes it possible to obtain up to 20 q/ha of fingerlings in nursery ponds and solves the problem of shortage of fish stock, expands the range of fish products by including new promising fish farming objects in the polyculture.

The creation of new chemical and biological medicinal preparations for the prevention and treatment of fish diseases allows fish farms to abandon the use of a number of expensive and environmentally unsafe antibiotics, to exclude mass waste of fish in conditions of intensive fish farming.

Safe methods have been developed for fertilizing ponds with food industry waste, which contributes to an increase in fish productivity, a significant reduction in the cost of expensive concentrated feed when growing planting material.

Compound feeds for different types of fish created on the basis of local raw materials can reduce the cost of farmed fish and increase competitiveness.

Developed by the Institute of Biotechnology for cultivation of pond fish in polyculture, artificial reproduction of juvenile carp and herbivorous fish, commercial fish farming in lakes, selection and breeding work with carp, and many others, allowed all fish farms of the republic to make the transition to intensive technologies.

The Institute is a full member and one of the founders of the Association of the Network of Scientific Centers for Aquaculture in Central and Eastern Europe (NACCE).

There are agreements on scientific and technical cooperation in the field of fisheries and the study of water resources with specialized research institutions in:
- Russia (All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Freshwater Fisheries, FGUP Polar Scientific Research Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography named after N.M. Knipovich, FGNU "State Research Institute of Lake and River Fisheries", FGBOU " Kaliningrad State Technical University ")
- Ukraine (Institute of Fisheries of the Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, HSE "Kherson State Agrarian University")
- Lithuania (the Fisheries Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania)
- Poland (the Stanislav Sakovich Institute of Freshwater Fisheries)
- PRC (the Fishery Company of Da Qing Lian Huan Hu Lake, Su Qian Institute of Academy of Agricultural Sciences from Jiang Su Province of China).
