Summary
The Institute of History offers underwater archaeological research (underwater archeology) services to consumers under a manufacturing agreement or an outsourcing agreement.
Description
Underwater archeology makes it possible to carry out a long-term and systematic study of a number of monuments significant for the history of Belarus, which until recently were not available for research by traditional archaeological methods. Over the past years, a new direction has been actively developed in Belarus - underwater archaeological search and underwater archaeological research. Despite separate attempts at underwater archaeological research in the 1980s (fortified settlement Maskovichi (Lake Nespish), ancient settlement Prudniki (river Vyata)), these works have not received their development, appropriate scientific support and introduction into scientific circulation.
Unique world-class monuments and artifacts have been identified and studied using the methods of underwater archeology:
* sites of the Neolithic - Bronze Age Krivina-3;
* dugout boat of the beginning of the 16th century, raised fr om the bottom of the Neman River;
* fortifications of the Zhabersky castle of the XVII-XVIII centuries;
* Places wh ere Napoleon's army crossed in November 1812 across the river. Berezina.

Advantages and Innovations
As a result of the work, new archaeological sources were obtained, the further interpretation of which allows obtaining new knowledge about the events that took place on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, from the Stone Age to the New Age.
