Additional comments
The structure of the State Scientific and Production Association "Optics, Optoelectronics and Laser Technology" includes the following legal entities:
— B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus;
—Center of LED and Optoelectronic Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus;
– Center for Geophysical Monitoring of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus;
— Private research and production unitary enterprise "Develop group".

The main research activities of the SSPA "Optics, Optoelectronics and Laser Technology".

Fundamental and applied research in the field of radio photonics (microwave optoelectronics), the main subjects of study of which are the generation, transmission and processing of microwave signals using optoelectronic methods. Radio photonics allows you to create devices and systems in the microwave range with parameters that are unattainable by traditional electronic means, including:
– powerful photodiodes for frequencies up to 100 GHz;
– photon generation of microwave signals with a bandwidth of up to 100 GHz;
– fiber optic transmission lines and distribution systems for frequencies up to 100 GHz.

Research is underway on new solid-state and thin-film photovoltaic cells, methods for detecting and converting optical radiation by photoelectric detectors and radiation converters for monitoring, control, navigation, diagnostics systems, as well as photovoltaic cells for solar energy and methods for their metrology.

Research is being carried out on:
– formation and study of new functional materials based on modified anodic alumina;
— development of functional elements and systems for micronanoelectronics, optoelectronics and micromechanics;
— development of design options for physical and chemical sensors operating on various physical principles;
— development of micro- and micro-optoelectromechanical systems (MEMS and MOEMS);
— development and research of various functional micro- and nanodevices for biotechnologies and filtration and separation systems.

Applied research is also being carried out in the field of distributed robotic and computing systems, intelligent automation systems, automated laser-optical and optoelectronic systems. Creation of modular distributed hardware and software systems with a flexible network system for remote interaction, separation of hardware resources and computing power. Such systems with wired and wireless communication between components have high fault tolerance, easy interchangeability of modular components, lack of dependence on network infrastructure and are focused on a wide range of applications: smart home systems, industrial automation systems, etc.

SSPA develops scientific and technical cooperation with organizations and enterprises of the Republic of Belarus working in the field of micro-, opto- and microwave electronics. To this end, in February 2017, the Micro-, Opto- and Microwave Electronics cluster was created. The cluster includes:
— SSPA "Optics, Optoelectronics and Laser Engineering";
— B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus;
— Scientific and Practical Centre for Materials Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus;
— JSC "Integral";
- JSC "Planar";
- JSC "Minsk Research Institute of Radiomaterials";
— Belarusian State University;
— Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics;
— Belarusian National Technical University.
