Summary
The Joint Institute for Nuclear and Energy Research offers decontamination polymer compositions for "dry" decontamination to consumers and distributors under a manufacturing or distribution agreement.
Description
For low-waste "dry" decontamination, decontamination polymer composite formulations based on the use of deactivating coatings and pastes, low-chemical and low-stage decontamination technologies have been developed and introduced.

Deactivating polymer composite materials have a high deactivating ability (coefficient is 102..103) and low adhesion to the investigated surfaces of stainless and carbon steels, including painted, plastic, self-leveling floors, Teflon.

Decontamination compositions were introduced during the decommissioning of the spent nuclear fuel storage facility of the Pamir-630D mobile NPP at the Joint Institute for Energy and Nuclear Research - Sosny of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Decontamination of equipment and structural elements of the storage facility was carried out, a high decontamination factor was achieved - 30..600, the formation of secondary solid radioactive waste was 0.3 kg / m2.
Advantages and Innovations
Efficiency of decontamination, low dose load on personnel, absence of liquid decontamination waste requiring additional processing, small volume of solid radioactive waste, which made it possible to significantly reduce the cost of solidification and isolation of solidified radioactive waste.
