The Institute of Fruit Growing offers consumers the Virilad gooseberry variety on the basis of a license agreement.

The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness, resistance to fungal diseases (no damage by spheroteka was noted, the maximum degree of damage by leaf spots does not exceed 2.5%), yield in the 5th year after planting is 2.6 kg / bush (or 11 t / ha at landing pattern 3.0 × 0.8). Berries are green, round in shape, with an average weight of 3.1 g (maximum 4.5 g), good taste (tasting assessment of fresh berries, 4.3 points). According to the habit of the bush and the physicomechanical characteristics of the berries, the variety is suitable for mechanized harvesting.

In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus, it surpasses domestic (Masheka) and foreign counterparts (Northern Captain, Neslukhovsky) in terms of a combination of features that determine the suitability for mechanized harvesting already at the entry of the variety into the first fruiting; high productivity, resistance to spheroteca and leaf spots, taste and biochemical composition.
