Summary
The Institute of Radiobiology offers consumers services for the use of an information and analytical system for ensuring radiation safety in the management of private subsidiary, farm and household plots under an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
As a result of the task "Development of recommendations for the cultivation of crops and keeping animals in private subsidiary (farm, homestead) farms in the territory of radioactive contamination in the late period after the Chernobyl disaster" within the framework of the State Program for Overcoming the Consequences of the Catastrophe at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant for 2011-2015 and for the Period up to 2020, recommendations were developed and an information application was developed to present them in an interactive form.

The information application is made in the form of a web application.

The interface of the information application is divided into two parts. On the left is a menu containing sections with information presented in the recommendations for the user to familiarize themselves with. When selecting a section in the menu, the necessary information material is displayed on the right.

The ability to forecast the contamination of crop and livestock products in any populated area located in the territory of radioactive contamination has been developed. To do this, you need to select a region, district, village council and settlement to ensure quick receipt of the requested information. After that, up-to-date information on the classification of the selected settlement as a radioactive contamination zone, its name and the density of contamination of the territory of the settlement with radionuclides according to Belhydromet data is displayed.

In the pollution forecast section, information on the specific activity of 137Cs and 90Sr is presented in the form of diagrams for the selected settlement. One diagram displays the predicted specific activity of radionuclides in plant products, the second - in livestock products.

Advantages and Innovations
The diagrams are interactive. When you hover the cursor over the columns on the diagram, the calculated values ​​of the specific activity of radionuclides and the name of the crop are displayed. It is also possible to display forecast information for one radionuclide or two simultaneously. It is possible to compare data by crops and types of livestock products. It is also possible to highlight, zoom in/out and move the information field for more detailed consideration.

The State Scientific Institution "Institute of Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus" is a leading organization carrying out scientific and scientific-organizational activities in accordance with the main areas of scientific research:

– “Ecological safety, environmental protection, minerals and subsoil of Belarus, efficient use and renewal of natural resources, prevention and elimination of consequences of emergency situations”: protective measures to overcome the remote radioecological consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
- study of the mechanisms of the biological action of low doses of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and the influence that has developed in the regions of the republic, the environmental situation on living organisms;
- study of patterns of behavior of pollutants and radionuclides in ecosystems, their inclusion in trophic chains and accumulation in the body;
- development of ways and means to reduce the negative impact of environmental factors on human health.
