Experimental and Production Enterprise "Ferrit" manufactures magnetic separators of the SMK series(magnetic column), designed to extract metal-magnetic impurities from grain, its processed products, flour, cereals, animal feed, feed raw materials and other bulk products, as well as to protect subsequent equipment of production lines from damage by metal particles and reduce sparking.

Magnetic separators of the SMK series are installed in a vertical position in the pipeline for supplying the separated product.

Principle of operation:
The magnetic separator of the SMK series consists of a housing and a magnetic system located inside the housing. Inside the casing there are vanes (braking plates) for directing the flow of separation products to the surface of the magnetic system. The separation product enters the separator box and is directed to the surface of the magnetic system (magnetic block). In the magnetic system, due to the different magnetic susceptibility of grinding products and metal-magnetic impurities, under the influence of magnetic forces, metal-magnetic impurities are released from the non-magnetic flow of grinding products and are attracted to the magnetic block of the magnetic system, and the purified product is discharged through the outlet pipe.

In manufactured separators of the SMK series, the magnetic induction can reach 300 mT, in similar separators of the BMM, BMM-01 types, the maximum magnetic induction is 200 mT (the higher the magnetic induction, the stronger the effect of the magnet at a given point, and the better it can hold ferromagnetic particles in this point).
