Summary
The Scientific and Practical Center for Bioresources offers customers services for the development of resource species population management plans to ensure rational and sustainable use of resources under an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
Services are offered to solve the following national economic problems:
- ensuring rational and sustainable use of beaver and elk resources while maintaining a viable population;
- forming a stable population of wood grouse and black grouse with high rates of reproductive success;
- preserving the wild boar as an essential component of ecosystems and the main mass hunting object in Belarus;
- optimizing the protection of the European roe deer and red deer population, principles of its management for the purpose of developing hunting and ecotourism.
The developed action plans contribute to:
- rational and sustainable use of beaver resources while maintaining a viable population in accordance with the habitat through its monitoring, harvest management and damage control/minimization;
- maintaining the most acceptable age and sex structure of the elk population, increasing the total number of annually harvested males with high trophy qualities, eliminating the removal of valuable animals for the population that are part of the reproductive core;
- maintaining a stable population of wood grouse and black grouse, preventing the disappearance of local populations in the western part of Belarus;
- reducing the intensity of the spread of ASF, reducing the costs of regulating the wild boar population and preserving its unique ecological function in ecosystems;
- sustainable use of the resources of the European roe deer population taking into account the interests of preserving biodiversity;
- creating a sustainable population of red deer, evenly distributed across the territory of Belarus, with a high potential for annual reproduction and at the same time not leading to the emergence of a significant number of conflict situations in various areas of human activity.
Scope - hunting, ecotourism, conservation of biodiversity of the Republic of Belarus.
The developed action plans contribute to increasing the use of beaver resources, reducing the harm caused by its activities, while maintaining viable populations; structuring the market for one-time permits for the extraction of wood grouse, European roe deer, elk and black grouse; reducing the spread of ASF and simultaneously preserving the ecological function of the wild boar in ecosystems; structuring the market for the purchase and sale of both the red deer animals themselves and one-time permits for their extraction.
Information is posted in Album of promising developments of the NAS of Belarus organizations for the real sector of the economy (2023), p. 218-219. (in Russian)

Advantages and Innovations
There are currently no competitors. The management plan facilitates the management of resource animal species populations in Belarus.
Management plans:
- reduce the negative impact on agriculture and forestry, reduce damage to beaver construction activities and allow for greater exploitation of its population;
- allow for greater exploitation of the wood grouse and black grouse population;
- reduce the negative impact of the spread of African swine fever;
- reduce the negative impact on agriculture, reduce damage from road accidents and allow for greater exploitation of the European roe deer, elk and red deer populations.
Implementation of management plan activities does not require the creation of new high technologies.
