Summary
The Joint Institute for Nuclear and Energy Research offers consumers and distributors an expert assessment and development of recommendations for updating the library of minor actinide files in the thermal and allowed resonance neutron energy ranges within the framework of outsourcing or distribution agreements.
Description
Examination and refinement of the available files of estimated nuclear data for 242-248Cm, 241, 243Am, 237Np isotopes in the thermal and resolved resonance energy ranges, taking into account all available experimental information and presenting them in the form of estimated nuclear data files in the ENDF format, makes it possible to obtain the required constants for neutron-physical calculations using the internationally recognized programs NJOY, PREPRO, CONSYST, etc., focused on working with the estimated data files in the specified format, as well as the recommended values of the reaction cross sections (n, 2n) for 235-238U and 238-242Pu nuclei based on expert judgment of these cross-sections from various libraries.
Advantages and Innovations
The results obtained will make it possible to minimize uncertainties in calculations and modeling of the processes occurring in the reactor and spent fuel.
Stage of development
Already on the market
Comments regarding stage of development
The data are ready for use (prediction of cross sections important for minimizing uncertainty in calculations and modeling of processes occurring in the reactor and spent fuel) using the programs NJOY, PREPRO, CONSYST distributed by the IAEA.

Additional comments
International cooperation activities at the Institute include works performed under the nine projects of the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), contracts with the IAEA and leading research centers of Western Europe and the USA, as well as under contracts with institutes in Czech Republic, Poland, Japan and Germany. Joint work is in process with multiple research centers in Russia and Ukraine. Over a period of several years, the Institute’s scientists have conducted experimental research at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia).
The Institute has long-established scientific links with researchers from Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, Sweden, USA, Russia, Poland, China and Japan.
