Description
OJSC "Minsk Research Institute of Radiomaterials" of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus manufactures glucometers "IRMA" and glucometers with voice output "IRMA PLUS", designed to measure glucose in blood using a disposable bioelectrochemical sensor "Glucosen".
The principle of operation of the glucometer "IRMA" is based on the conversion of current level values into glucose concentration values. As a result of the redox reaction of glucose with an enzyme applied to the bioelectrochemical "Glucosen" sensor, an electric current flows in the device, the level of which is determined by the quantitative content of the substance being determined. The conversion function, which is part of the software of the device, recalculates the current value into the glucose content value, which is displayed on the LCD display.
Glucometer "IRMA PLUS" has a voice output for the blood sugar level measuring procedure, which allows diabetic patients with impaired vision to monitor blood glucose readings without viewing visual information displayed on the LCD display. The device emits alarm signal when the glucose concentration is less than 3,5 mmol/l.

* automatic shutdown after 120 seconds after the measurement is completed;
* indication of date, time, readiness for measurements, blood glucose concentration (mmol/l), glycemic level below and above the measurement limits, measurement procedure errors, battery discharge.
