Summary
The Joint Institute of Power and Nuclear Research - Sosny offers consumers a pilot plant for the processing of radioactive waste under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
The main practical tasks in the field of radioactive waste (RW) management and disposal are:
- reconstruction of radioactive waste disposal sites (RWDSs);
- ensuring radioecological safety of RWDSs;
- implementation of works on site selection and construction of new RWDSs;
- analysis of the potential hazard of facilities for storing radioactive materials in neighboring countries, which are being built near the borders, and the development of measures to reduce the radiological risk to the population.

Advantages and Innovations
For the first time in the republic, processing and immobilization of liquid radioactive waste were carried out and a high degree of purification from surfactants and salts was obtained.
Stage of development
Already on the market
Comments regarding stage of development
With the participation of specialists from the institute, a project was developed and put into operation at the enterprise of the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Polesye” of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, a unique pilot plant for the processing of radioactive waste.
