Description
Prototypes of autonomous illuminators for fluorescent flaw detection based on violet LEDs with a wavelength of 400 nm have been developed, which surpass existing analogues in cost and safety for the operator-flaw detector operator (in comparison with the existing UV lamps and irradiators based on UV LEDs with a wavelength of 365 nm) while providing the required sensitivity of control. These illuminators based on violet LEDs with an average wavelength of 400 nm, having a low cost and being much safer than UV-mercury lamps and illuminators based on UV-LEDs, can be effectively used for fluorescent capillary control, providing a high detectability of defects with openings 1 -13 microns and depths of 20-1000 microns and more. A darkening casing made of an opaque material provides the required low level of illumination in the control area (no more than 10 lux). This allows fluorescent capillary testing in the field.
