Summary
B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus offers consumers services for the identification and determination of physico-chemical characteristics of food products using multiparametric analysis of optical spectra under an outsourcing agreement.
Description
B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus provides services for the identification and determination of physico-chemical characteristics of industrially manufactured food products using optical spectroscopy of UV, visible and near-infrared ranges and developed multiparametric data processing methods.
Pilot projects have been carried out on the characteristics of vodkas, wines and vegetable oils. In the study of 153 varieties of vodka products, the possibility of solving the problem of 100% detection of counterfeit by multiparametric analysis of transmission spectra measured in the UV and visible ranges was shown.
The ratio (figure on the right) and relative error (figure on the left) values of the concentration of lilac aldehyde in the training (circles) and identification (crosses) samples of cognac, which were predicted with the projection for latent structures in the transmission spectra in the range of 190-2500 nm:
Specifications:
Application areas:
* identification and search for counterfeit goods;
* food industry;
* perfume industry;
* pharmaceutical industry;
* petrochemical industry;
* paint and varnish industry and other types of mass products.

Advantages and Innovations
The developed innovative multiparametric methods for analyzing spectral information about the same type of objects can be adapted to identify and search for counterfeit goods in various industries of mass manufactured. To date, such methods have no analogues in Belarus and the CIS countries.
