Summary
The Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering offers consumers mobile trauma-safe trailer damping devices (MPDU) for road service cover vehicles, including the development of documentation and modernization at the request of the Customer, under a manufacturing agreement and/or the conclusion of a license agreement for their production.
Description
The production of light and heavy series MPDUs has been developed and mastered, ensuring the safe performance of road works on the urban road network and suburban highways, as well as minimizing the severity of accidents in collisions of vehicles with road service vehicles. MPDU is designed for use in conjunction with category No. 2, 3 trucks.
Scope of application - construction, repair and operation of highways and minimization of the consequences of collisions of vehicles with road construction equipment during road works.
Information on mobile trailer damper devices is contained in "Catalog of Products and Services of the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering" 2019 г., p. 12-13. (in Russian)
Information also is in Album of promising developments of the NAS of Belarus organizations for the real sector of the economy (2023), p. 91-92. (in Russian)

Advantages and Innovations
The world leaders in the production of mobile trailer and mounted damper devices are the following companies: TraFix Devices, Inc. (USA), Barrier Systems (USA) and Verdegro Group (Holland). They produce highly efficient devices of various categories. The main disadvantage that prevents the use of these devices in the EAEU market is their high cost.
The trailer design of the MPDU has high mobility (it can be quickly re-coupled with another tractor), imposes fewer restrictions on the functionality of road equipment (in comparison with mounted designs), and requires virtually no modification of the towing vehicle.
In terms of technical parameters and consumer properties, the manufactured MPDUs correspond to the best foreign analogues at a significantly lower cost.
The devices perform active and passive safety functions; are equipped with energy-intensive energy-absorbing cartridges that ensure effective and safe deceleration of ramming vehicles that correspond to the MPDU category; energy-efficient information boards with regulating road signs and boards with LED arrows and strobe lights, providing high visibility of the MPDU in various conditions.
The original technical solutions used in the MPDU design ensure high technology in production, maintenance and repair.
