The Institute of Sociology is the leading research institution in Belarus working in the field of sociology.
The mission of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is a systematic study of the state and dynamics of development of the political, economic, social and cultural spheres of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of regular fundamental and applied sociological research.

The Institute conducts research on a republican representative sample, including 7 regions (oblasts and Minsk), within which 6 territorial zones are allocated (from the level of regional centers to rural settlements).
