2021-03-26

The European Commission launched a new intellectual property support service for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) based in the EU or in COSME countries that are operating in, or planning to access the Indian market.

The India IP SME Helpdesk provides SME with free, first-line expert support on how to protect and enforce their intellectual property in India. The new initiative complements the existing services provided by the regional Helpdesks for China, Europe, Latin America and South-East Asia.

The India IP SME Helpdesk is managed by EASME, with policy guidance provided by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG Grow).

The service is run by an international group of tenderers composed by the following institutions:

  • Eurochambres (Belgium),
  • European Research and Project Office GmbH - Eurice (Germany),
  • European Business & Technology Center - EBTC (India, main subcontractor) and
  • the University of Alicante (Spain), acting as coordinator.

The information provided by the India IP SME Helpdesk is not of a legal or advisory nature and no responsibility is accepted for the results of any actions made on its basis. Moreover, it cannot be considered as the official position of EASME or the European Commission.
