Description
The Sociological Almanac is a scientific periodical of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, published once a year since 2011. The publication is included in the Russian Science Citation Index, electronic versions of the journal and articles are provided to the Russian Electronic Library and the Internet Library "Cyberleninka".
Included in the List of scientific publications of the Republic of Belarus for publishing the results of dissertation research of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus. Working languages: Belarusian, Russian, English.

The Institute of Sociology is a leading research institution in Belarus working in the field of sociology.
The mission of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is a systematic study of the state and dynamics of development of the political, economic, social and cultural spheres of the Republic of Belarus based on regular fundamental and applied sociological research.
The main goal of the Institute is to conduct scientific research in the field of sociological, social-psychological and political science knowledge.
In accordance with this goal, the tasks of the Institute are:
- conducting fundamental and applied scientific research in the assigned scientific areas;
identifying the ways of scientific and innovative development of society, implementing applied scientific research and development in priority areas of scientific activity;
- developing recommendations for the use of the results of scientific research of the Institute in management activities, scientific support for their practical implementation;
- conducting, on behalf of the management of the Academy of Sciences and other government bodies, scientific examinations of the most important scientific and national economic programs, innovative projects, as well as draft regulatory legal acts in the profile of the Institute;
- study and generalization of world scientific achievements in the profile of the Institute and assistance in their scientific and practical application;
- training of highly qualified scientific personnel through postgraduate studies, doctoral studies and candidate programs;
- advanced training of scientific workers and specialists, including in foreign scientific centers;
- development of its own scientific and innovative potential, conceptual and applied developments carried out at the Institute.
The Institute conducts research on a republican representative sample, including 7 regions (regions and Minsk), within which 6 territorial zones are allocated (from the level of regional centers to rural settlements). The quality of the research is ensured by an extensive and flexible survey network of professional interviewers. The network allows for high-quality and prompt research in all regions of the country. Conducting telephone interviews by experienced specialists based on the computerized CATI ASSO system. The system allows for the selection of respondents in any region of the country, careful monitoring of the progress of the study, and checking the effectiveness of any call.
The advantages of the Institute are high-quality data collection from a scientifically based sample, representative in terms of gender, age, education and place of residence of respondents, the use of scientifically based approaches to the analysis of practical tasks of customers, as well as to the collection, analysis and description of data, the reputation of the Institute of Sociology as a state scientific institution, proven by the most complex tasks and demanding clients.
