Summary
The Scientific and Practical Center for Bioresources offers consumers services on the use of a system for controlling the spread of alien species of fish pathogens and recommendations for minimizing the damage they cause in natural reservoirs and fish farms under an outsourcing agreement.
Description
For the first time, a system for monitoring alien species of fish pathogens and an algorithm for its implementation have been developed for fish farms in Belarus. It is based on an annotated list of alien species of parasites, methodological recommendations for express assessment of the degree of their danger to fish farms, which allows for timely signaling of their appearance in water bodies, quickly and effectively diagnosing them in populations of commercial fish species and taking effective measures to minimize the negative impact on introduced fish populations.
Recommendations have been developed to minimize the economic damage caused to the fish farming industry by alien species of fish pathogens, containing preventive and therapeutic measures to combat helminthic and bacterial diseases of fish in pond farms.

Scope - agriculture (fish industry of countries).
The system for monitoring alien species of fish pathogens and an algorithm for its implementation can be used not only in fish farms in Belarus, but also in adjacent territories.

Information is posted in  Album of promising developments of the NAS of Belarus organizations for the real sector of the economy (2023), p. 220-221. (in Russian)
Advantages and Innovations
Prevention of parasitic and invasive threats.
The development meets the needs of the international market in terms of quality and competitiveness, and is an export product with optimization for a specific export region.
It is environmentally safe. There are no analogues.
The control system allows for timely signaling of the appearance of alien species in pond farms, and for their rapid and effective diagnosis in commercial fish populations. The implementation of the developed recommendations for minimizing economic damage caused to the fish farming industry by alien species of fish pathogens at fish farms has reduced damage from parasitic diseases and reduced the costs of anti-epizootic measures by 20–30%.
