Summary
The Scientific and Practical Centre for Bioresources offers consumers services on the use of methods for determining the ways of penetration of alien species of hydrobionts from the Black Sea basin to the Baltic Sea basin through the Vileyka-Minsk water system on the basis of an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
The problem of alien species is directly related to the ecological and economic security of the republic and the health of its population. Of particular danger is the penetration of alien species into the reserves and reserves of Belarus, which are a reserve of native fauna and flora.
Unique methods have been developed to control the spread of invasive species of fauna in the conditions of Belarus.
A new path of penetration of the Ponto-Caspian species of the Ponto-Caspian Gobiidae family, the sand goby Neogobius fluviatilis (Pallas, 1814), alien to the ichthyofauna of Belarus, from the Black Sea basin to the Baltic Sea basin along with the Vileika-Minsk water system, which is a new branch of the Central invasion corridor, has been established. This species of gobies is included in the Black Book of Invasive Animal Species of Belarus.
The data obtained on the expansion of the area of distribution of alien Ponto-Caspian hydrobiont species in the Baltic Sea basin will be the basis for the development of an Action Plan to minimize the negative impact of alien species on native ecosystems.
