Summary
SSPA “Scientific-Practical Materials Research Centre of NAS of Belarus” offers consumers a technology for the manufacture of replaceable plates from superhard composite materials based on cubic boron nitride and refractory compounds for mechanical processing of cast iron and steel products on the basis of a commercial agreement with technical assistance, as well as the supply of small batches of products based on a manufacturing agreement.
Description
The influence of the sintering temperature in the range 1200..1800 C at a pressure of 5 GPa and the content of cubic boron nitride powder of different fineness in the initial charge on the compaction process and physical and mechanical properties of composites based on cubic boron nitride and refractory compounds has been investigated. The method of manufacturing replaceable plates from superhard composite materials based on cubic boron nitride and refractory compounds is characterized by a lower sintering pressure compared to direct synthesis, which makes it possible to increase the service life of high-pressure apparatuses.
Advantages and Innovations
A superhard composite based on cubic boron nitride and refractory compounds with a hardness of up to 46 GPa and an elastic modulus of up to 530 GPa has been obtained.
