Description
The method and device are designed to ensure the alignment of the steel pressure pipe and the plastic sheath of flexible pipelines during their manufacture. The principle of operation is based on the eddy current method. Four overhead eddy current transducers are located around the pipeline up to the section where the heat insulator has not yet frozen, located between the pressure pipe and the plastic shell. Each of them measures the distance to the steel pipe. An algorithm has been developed and a computer program has been written for the numerical analysis of the data obtained from the converters, on the basis of which a conclusion is drawn about the alignment of the shell and the pressure pipe. The maximum measurable distance between the steel pipe and the plastic sheath is 50 mm, the distance measurement error is 2%. When a misalignment occurs between the pipe and the casing, the operator, by turning on the actuator, displaces the pipeline casing until a zero misalignment value is obtained.
