Summary
B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus offers consumers solid-state active substrates for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy using silvered porous silicon under a manufacturing agreement and is looking for partners interested in a distribution services agreement.
Description
B.I.Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus developed a method for preparing solid-state active substrates for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) based on silvered porous silicon (PS).
Correlations have been established between the morphological parameters of the initial PS substrates and the SERS activity of silver nanostructures. The obtained substrates have a high SERS signal amplification factor, surface homogeneity, and retain their sensitivity during long-term storage in air (up to 1 month).
The possibility of detecting picomolar concentrations of a substance using silver-plated PS substrates has been demonstrated.
Scheme for deposition of silver onto the surface of PC substrate:

Advantages and Innovations
SERS-active nanomaterials will significantly increase the sensitivity of optical sensor devices using the SERS effect and can be used for highly sensitive detection and study of trace amounts of complex organic compounds (harmful emissions, drugs), heavy metals, etc. correspond to the world level. The cost of the developed substrates is 5..7 US dollars, which is 2..3 times less than the cost of analogues.
