Experimental and Production Enterprise "Ferrit" manufactures magnetic suspension separators of the SMP-PD series with permanent magnets, designed to remove large ferromagnetic metal objects from the flow of bulk materials (grain and its products, food products, root crops, wood shavings, sand, crushed stone and others bulk materials) moving along a belt conveyor (conveyor) or vibrating chute, to protect process equipment from damage by random metal objects.

Magnetic separators of the SMP-PD series are installed above a belt conveyor or vibrating chute at a height of 100-350 mm from the conveyor belt. To install the SMP-PD magnetic separator, a special stand or suspension device is required, developed for each specific installation site, since the weight of the separator ranges from several hundred kilograms to several tons.

The efficiency of the magnetic separator is increased when installed at the place of transfer of the separated material from the conveyor belt, when the material is in a state of free fall.

Principle of operation:
The magnetic block of the separator, which creates a powerful magnetic field, is installed above the moving conveyor belt moving the separated material. In the zone of a powerful magnetic field, due to the different magnetic susceptibility of the bulk product and ferromagnetic metal objects, under the influence of magnetic forces, metal-magnetic objects stand out from the non-magnetic material flow, are attracted to the lower part of the magnetic block and are held on it until cleaning, and the cleaned material moves further along the conveyor.

In manufactured separators, the depth of the extraction zone can reach up to 350 mm, which is an order of magnitude higher than in existing analogues (in the suspended magnetic separator manufactured by MAGTRADE, this figure is 200 mm).

In the manufactured separators, the magnetic induction can reach 500 mT, in similar separators of the RCYC, RCYD series, the maximum magnetic induction is 150 mT.
