Summary
The Institute of Genetics and Cytology offers consumers services for the analysis of DNA identification of mutations that determine the fertility of Holstein (Holsteinized) cattle under an outsourcing agreement and is looking for partners to conclude a distribution services agreement.
Description
The method of DNA identification of mutations reveals haplotypes that affect the fertility of Holstein (Holsteinized) cattle: HH1 (APAF1 gene); HH3 (SMC2 gene); HH4 (GART gene); HH5 (TFB1M gene); HCD (APOB gene); HHO (FANCI gene); HHB (BLAD gene); HHC (CVM gene).

The frequency of occurrence of fertility haplotypes, negatively associated with reproductive abilities, was determined in a sample of individuals from the population of the Holstein (Holsteinized) breed of cattle in Belarus.
Advantages and Innovations
Based on the study, recommendations are issued on the exclusion from the breeding process of animals - latent carriers of unwanted recessive mutations, which reduces the spread in the cattle population of carriers of genes that determine early and postembryonic mortality of calves.
