Summary
SSPA of Powder Metallurgy offers consumers technologies for the production of silicon carbide ceramics with glass coating for the optoelectronic industry with warranty and post-warranty service for the corresponding technological processes, improvement of technology under a commercial agreement with technical assisyance, manufacturing and supply of products under a manufacturing agreement.
Description
Technologies have been developed for manufacturing silicon carbide ceramics with a coating of optical glass of a composite (assembled) design for the manufacture of mirror-lens systems, including for the production of mirrors for optical telescopes; the introduction and development of this technology in production ensures import substitution and competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets.
A process has been developed for producing high-density silicon carbide ceramics based on polyfractional powders of silicon carbide and carbon, modified with additives of refractory metals and their carbides by infiltration of porous carbide frameworks (presses) with liquid silicon and its alloys. As a result of such processing, dense silicon carbide ceramics with high physical, mechanical and functional properties are formed, which allows it to be used for the manufacture of optical parts of lightweight design.
Technical specifications:

Advantages and Innovations
Due to the low density and high specific rigidity of silicon carbide ceramics, it is possible to manufacture large-sized optical mirrors of lightweight design.
An astronomical mirror made of silicon carbide ceramics with an optical glass coating of a composite (assembled) design is formed by reaction soldering of individual ceramic elements into a single product with a diameter of up to 600 mm and a lightening degree of 75–80%.
The manufacture of silicon carbide ceramics using this technology is environmentally friendly.
