1st Belarusian Innovation Forum

1st Belarusian Innovation Forum is to take place in Minsk, Belarus on 17-18 November 2009.


The Forum will be held on authorization #34/310-12 from the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of 16 January 2009, with the support from the Central European Initiative (CEI) Secretariat for EU Projects, the UNDP Office in Belarus, and UNIDO.


The Conference is organized by

·         the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus,

·         the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus,

·         the Ministry of Industry,

·         the Ministry of Architecture and Construction,

·         the Ministry of Education,

·         the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Products,

·         the Ministry of Energy,

·         the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services,

·         the Ministry of Communications and Informatization,

·         the Ministry of Transport and Routes of Communication,

·         the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

·         the Ministry of Economy,

·         the State Concern of Light Industry, Production and Sales (Bellegprom),

·         the State Production and Trade Concern of Forestry, Woodworking, Pulp and Paper Industry (Bellesbumprom),

·         the State Production and Sales Concern of Pharmaceutical and Microbiological Products (Belbiopharm),

·         the State Concern for Petroleum and Chemicals (Belneftekhim),

·         the six regional executive committees,

·         the Minsk Municipal Executive Committee,

·         several foreign embassies accredited in Belarus,

·         the National Library of Belarus,

·         the Republican Centre for Technology Transfer,

·         the Minsk Capital Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers,

·         the High Technology Park,

·         several business associations from across Belarus.


The primary objectives of the Conference are

·        to appraise the present status of the national innovation system;

·        to exchange the world’s best experience and search for guidelines towards boosted innovation-based development of Belarus;

·        to inform the national and international public about the progress made in the innovation-related activity across Belarus, the CIS and CEI countries.


High-rank officials from the national ministries, governmental bodies and agencies, academic and educational institutions, business associations from across Belarus, top managers of domestic and foreign enterprises and companies, experts from the UNDP, UNIDO, as well as those coming from the CIS and the CEI member countries are invited to the Conference.
