2nd International Conference of Applied Science was held on 28-30 October in Baku (Azerbaijan). This year’s event was focused on the topic “The Role of the Sci-Tech Information System in Development of the National Economy”. More than 100 representatives of scientific communities of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine were flung together by the Conference.
The opening speech was made by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan academician M. Kerimov.
The participants discussed the role of information and knowledge in the formation of the innovation systems in the ex-Soviet economies. Director of RCTT Mr. Uspenskiy delivered the report “Contributions of the Republican Centre for Technology Transfer to the Implementation of the State Programme for Innovation-Based Development of Belarus for 2007 – 2010, the Current Situation and Future Prospects”.
The framework of the Conference comprised a special event dedicated to the activity of the International Centre for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI). During this event specialists of the Centre and Director of RCTT held a few seminars on particular aspects of innovation management. Ministerial officers and representatives of public administration were the target group. Director of RCTT Mr. Uspenskiy moderated a seminar “Innovation Management System and Promotion of Innovations to the Market”. The trainees were granted certificates of a course in innovation management.
