Another German-Belarusian Cooperation Exchange was held in Belarus, at the International Education Centre in Minsk (11, Gazety Pravda Ave) on 14-17 October 2008. This year’s forum was titled “Power Engineering, Fibre Electronics, Lighting and Electrical Engineering”. The event was jointly organized by the Association of Industrial Research Amalgamations (AiF, Germany)) and the Republican Centre for Technology Transfer (Belarus), with notable support from the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The event was opened by Adviser of AiF in Russia and Belarus Ulrike Kirchmeier, Economic Attache of the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Germany in Belarus Sven Hannss, Director of the Belarusian Innovation Foundation Anatoli Grishanovich, Director of the AiF Office in Minsk Valentin Litvinov. Director of RCTT Allexander Uspenskiy made the report “Opportunities for Getting German-Belarusian Tech Projects Supported in the Framework of the Republican Centre for Technology Transfer”. Academician Oleg Martynenko presented his report “Basic Activities Taken by the Research Institute of Heat and Mass Exchange of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the Power Engineering Domain”.
The cooperation forum brought together 10 German enterprises from the power engineering sector and 47 Belarusian enterprises that would like to acquire German products, get involved into joint R&D with German entities, or distribute German products across the country.
