Yet another seminar “Technology Transfer as an Element of the National Innovation Activity” took place in Minsk on 18 September. The event was held at the Institute of Professional Resources in Industry, during a brief training course for the human resources that would subsequently replace the top managers of enterprises and organizations of the Republic of Belarus. The seminar was moderated by Director of RCTT Alexander Uspenskiy.
Representatives of several key enterprises attended the seminar. Among the trainees, there were chief engineers, technical managers and their deputies from big industrial companies and plants, like the Avtogidrouselitel Works (Borisov), Bobruisk Civil Engineering Company, Belaruskaliy Potash Fertilizer Company (Soligorsk), Belarusian Metallurgic Works (Zhlobin), etc.
During the seminar there were some technology- and innovation-related issues taken up:
- the role of technology transfer and the world experience in it;
- the means and instruments of technology transfer;
- the current state and prospects for development of technology transfer in Belarus.
In addition, Mr. Uspenskiy informed the trainees about the goals and objectives of the Project “Strengthening the National System for Technology Transfer in the Republic of Belarus on the Basis of Information and Communication Technologies” that had been implemented and funded by the Government of Belarus, with co-funding and under the aegis of UNDP and UNIDO since December 2006.
