Yet another seminar “Technology Transfer as an Element of the National Innovation Activity” took place in Minsk on 20 May 2008. The event was held at the Institute of Professional Resources in Industry, during a brief training course for the human resources that would subsequently replace the top managers of enterprises and organizations under the Ministry of Industry of Belarus (http://www.minprom.gov.by). The seminar was moderated by Director of RCTT Alexander Uspenskiy.
Representatives of 29 enterprises attended the seminar. Among the trainees, there were employees from the Gomselmash Agricultural Machine Building Plant (www.selmash.gomel.by), BelAZ Belarusian Truck Building Plant (www.belaz.minsk.by), Grodno Azot Nitrogen Fertilizer Production Company (www.azot.by), Mozyr Oil Refinery (http://www.mnpz.by/), Mogilev Metallurgic Plant (http://www.mmz.by/), Mogilev Elevator Engineering Plant Mogiliovliftmash (http://www.liftmach.by/), Belshina Tyre Production Works (http://www.belshina.biz/), Lakokraska Paintwork Material Production from Lida (http://www.lidalkm.by/), etc.
During the seminar there were several topical issues taken up:
- the role of technology transfer and the world experience in it;
- the means and instruments of technology transfer;
- the current state and prospects for development of technology transfer in Belarus.
In addition, Mr. Uspenskiy informed the trainees about the goals and objectives of the Project “Strengthening the National System for Technology Transfer in the Republic of Belarus on the Basis of Information and Communication Technologies” that had been implemented and funded by the Government of Belarus, with co-funding and under the aegis of UNDP and UNIDO since December 2006.
