Yet another seminar “Technology Transfer as an Element of the National Innovation Activity” took place in Minsk on 20 March 2008. The event was held at the Institute of Professional Resources in Industry, during a brief training course for the human resources that would subsequently replace the top managers of enterprises and organizations under the Ministry of Industry of Belarus. The seminar was moderated by Director of RCTT Alexander Uspenskiy.
Representatives of 24 enterprises attended the seminar. Among the trainees, there were employees from the Gomselmash Agricultural Machine Building Plant(www.selmash.gomel.by), Mogilevkhimvolokno Chemical Fibre Mill (www.khimvolokno.by), Naftan Oil Refinery (www.naftan.by), Polimir Polymer-Based Production Plant(www.polymir.by), Minsk Motor Vehicle Plant (www.maz.by), BelAZ Belarusian Truck Building Plant(www.belaz.minsk.by), Belaruskaliy Potash Fertilizer Production Company (www.kali.by), Grodno Azot Nitrogen Fertilizer Production Company (www.azot.by), etc.
During the seminars there were several topical issues taken up:
- the role of technology transfer and the world experience in it;
- the means and instruments of technology transfer;
- the current state and prospects for development of technology transfer in Belarus.
In addition, Mr. Uspenskiy informed the trainees about the goals and objectives of the recently launched Project “Strengthening the National System for Technology Transfer in the Republic of Belarus on the Basis of Information and Communication Technologies” that had been implemented and funded by the Government of Belarus, with co-funding and under the aegis of UNDP and UNIDO since December 2006.
