On 28 June 2006 a delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela came to RCTT while making a visit to the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Director of the Engineering Institute of the Venezuelan Ministry of Science and Technology Ms Marielena Fernandez and Director of the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research with the aforesaid ministry Mr. Hendrik Yanez showed great interest about a presentation by RCTT’s Director Mr. Alexander Uspenskiy on the Centre’s activity, services rendered to foreign customers and partners, as well as on the developing technology transfer network of Belarus.

A Swiss research institute has developed an original patent-protected magnetic refrigeration system and is looking for a high-performance room temperature magnetocaloric material. Ideally the material should have a large magnetocaloric effect (MCE), in the range of 10 to 15 Kelvin in low magnetic fields such as 1 to 2 Tesla. The research institute wishes to collaborate with a partner able to provide or develop the requested material.

An Italian university research group proposes a method to broaden the reliability of vaccinations by determining the individual differences in response to vaccinations. The participation of a clinical group expert in human vaccinations and control of the effectiveness or an industry producing vaccines is requested. The partner will have as a duty to perform the vaccination on a group of healthy subjects (the size of the sample must be not lower then 250 subjects) and to control the immunoglobulin level.

Now the company wants to develop new products in the field of cold/heat technology and is searching for efficient specific and latent cold. The product should be re-usable (gel, salt, etc.) and able to store cold (0° up to -10 °C), which later on could be recalled by a starter (latent cold). This effect has to be reusable. The effect of ammonium nitrate is known. The company is looking for technical cooperation or license agreement.

On 14 June Director of RCTT Mr. A. Uspenskiy met Chief Executive of the Voronezh Innovation and Technology Centre (www.v-itc.ru
) Mr. V. Tupikin. The parties took up the current state and prospects for creation of the Centre for Scientific and Technological Cooperation of Russia and Belarus, RCTT’s participation in the InVestRegion
(the inter-regional analytical journal launched by VITC in 2006).
The two centres have agreed upon VITC’s joining the network of RCTT within the current quarter of the year. Furthermore, in 2006 an assigned specialist from VITC is to come to RCTT to acquire the skills of work in the RCTT Network and maintenance of VITC’s innovation project databases on the e-portal of the Republican Centre for Technology Transfer.

For the purposes of the recently signed
Cooperation Agreement between the Chinese-Russian Technopark in Chanchung (China) and the Republican Centre for Technology Transfer, the parties signed their Memorandum of Intentions on 7 June.
The document has provided for establishment of a Field Office of RCTT at the Chanchung Technopark. The Belarusian party’s policies and interests are to be pursued – on a staggered basis – by technology transfer specialists selected from the personnel of RCTT, its affiliated offices and regional branches.
The undersigned parties have assumed development of a Statute of RCTT’s Field Office in Chanchung within the upcoming July. RCTT’s office in China is planned to open this year.

On 7 June RCTT was visited by Anatoli Kovalionok, Director of the Kurzemes Centre for Technology Transfer (Latvia), a newly established organization with the Ventspils University.
Mr. Kovalionok got to know about the recent RCTT"s achievements and activity. The guest and the director of RCTT exchanged their opinions on several issues in concern with the prospective cooperation between Latvia and Belarus in the technology transfer domain.
The director of the Kurzemes centre for Technology Transfer expressed the willingness of the organization to join the technology transfer network of RCTT. The relevant agreement is expected to be made within the third quarter of this year.

Cars parked in open air in mid summer can have interior temperature reaching 80 degrees Celsius or more.
