BRICS Countries to set up BRICS Technology Transfer Network
On July 6-7, 2015 Moscow hosted the first meeting of representatives of financing organizations of BRICS member states in the sphere of science and technology. The event, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, was attended by representatives of five BRICS member states. The goal of the meeting was to increase cooperation and achieve concrete results in the sphere of science, technology and innovations among BRICS member states.
One of the topics was the establishment of joint BRICS Research and Innovation Networking Platforms, which will help coordinate an elaborate cooperation process within the BRICS scientific community and attract science-intensive industrial enterprises to these activities. In this discussion, Director of the UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation Mr. Sergey Korotkov told about BRICS Technology Transfer Network (BRICS TTN), launched under the UNIDO project “Partnership between Russia and Brazil in technology and innovation for development of SMEs” (see more at: http://brics-ttn.org).
