 NoGAP Project Partner Meeting in Tbilisi
The regular partner meeting of the project "NoGAP - Knowledge Transfer Community to bridge the gap between research, innovation and business creation" took place in Tbilisi (Georgia) on 24–25 March 2014.
 
The project NoGAP is carried out under the 7th Framework Programme with the overall objective to reinforce cooperation with Eastern Partnership countries to develop a "Common Knowledge and Innovation Space" on societal challenge "secure, clean and efficient energy". The project partners are 13 organizations from 6 countries (Germany, Romania, Slovakia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia). The Republican Centre for Technology Transfer and Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University represent Belarus.
 
The inviting party of the Meeting was the Partner of the project - International Center for Advancement of Research, Technology and Innovation (ICARTI), Georgia.
 
The events were held at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia and the Georgian Technical University.

The meeting was attended by Acad. Giorgi Kvestadze, President of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Acad. A. Prangishvili, Rector of Georgian Technical University and about 20 partners from 6 participating countries as well as Armenia and Azerbaijan. RCTT was represented by the Director Dr. Alexander Uspenskiy.


Meeting activities in Tbilisi include:
   - Project partner meeting
   - Steering Committee meeting
   - Visit of Innovation Technology Transfer Center of Georgia and
   - Visit of NGO "World Experience for Georgia"
 
Participants of the meeting, in particular, reviewed the status of implementation plans and discussed  the work packages (WP) of the project for the current half-year: WP1 (Identification of opportunities and bottlenecks related to cooperation and knowledge transfer between public research and industry in the societal challenge “secure, clean and efficient energy“), WP2 (Developing Innovation Support Services to foster Innovation Partnership in the societal challenge “secure, clean and efficient energy”), WP3 (Improving of competencies and mutual learning), WP6 (Communication and dissemination) и WP7 (Management).

Within the framework the meeting Dr. Alexander Uspenskiy, Director of RCTT gave a presentation on a theme Progress Report WP 1 - Identification of opportunities and bottleneck related to cooperation and knowledge transfer between public research and industry in the societal challenge “secure, clean and efficient energy”.
 
The next project meeting will be held 25-26 September 2014 in Nitra (Slovakia).
